Drawing on a decade of engineering, land planning, surveying, and project management experience, Justin Shimp founded Shimp Engineering on July 1st, 2010. With ten years of professional development in large, traditional engineering firms, Justin purposefully crafted Shimp Engineering to have a nimble business model, an approachable team, and a local presence. Justin’s background and relationships with public sector officials and private sector consultants help our clients reach their goals with clarity, simplicity, and the kind of care that only a local business can provide.

Since 2010, Shimp Engineering has built a comprehensive portfolio. Our office’s small size and interdisciplinary team allows us to be both thorough and responsive, and we move easily between the nuances of small sites and the complexities of large projects. We develop small-scale residential projects and site multi-family apartment complexes, design planting schemes for town centers and shopping areas and draft stormwater management designs for lots under development. While the diversity of our team allows us to engage in a range of land design practices, our work is unified. Each of our projects carries our trademark: careful and skilled negotiation of municipal policies, client goals, effective design, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.
